Alex has been a sports announcer and emcee since 2005, travelling across Canada and into the Northwestern United States broadcasting indoor soccer games, working with a variety of hockey teams, and being the voice of an international baseball tournament.
Alex finally settled on hockey in the fall of 2010, signing on with the BCMML's Cariboo Cougars to provide live play-by-play action of all the 09/10 Playoffs, and then all home and playoff games for the 2010/2011 season.
Building on that basis, Alex joined on with the broadcast team of the 2011 World Baseball Challenge, and was lead play-by-play announcer for 8 games of the tournament, including the final, something that broadened his comfort zone in the broadcast booth. Then in September 2011, Alex joined the BCHL's Powell River Kings as their full-time radio broadcaster, travelling with the team for all 60 regular season games, plus playoffs.
